The Seasons in Egypt

There are three main seasons in the Egyptian year.

Summer, Spring and Winter - although all year is warm at the very least.

The summertime is the hottest and is really from may/june onwards, generally it is too hot to be comfortable and wealthy Egyptians themselves don't hang around if they can get away - so that in itself should be a warning to you!!

I use the term springtime loosely as the Egyptians recognise only two seasons - Summer and Winter, however in my view Spring in Egypt does correspond in time to the European spring and the weather is certainly more temperate and bearable, however that time of year is prone to rather intense dust storms which are no fun.

Winter is the time most people choose to holiday in Egypt, the sun is high, it is still hot, the light is good and everyone seems to be better tempered.
